Belly giggles, tummy jiggles
laughter all around
Children's smile of sunshine
smacking kisses cheeks abound
Pitter patter, short feet scatter
running to and fro
Peeking here and booing there
it's really quite a show
Bong bong, we have a song
clanking out in tune
Pots and pans the instruments
toot toot a trumpet too?
Giggles, smiles, a hundred miles
short feet surely go
Smack, a kiss from time to time
the tune of love ya know?

Marge,
I think I've pretty much gone deaf from the sound or just learned to tune it out...but it is so fun to watch them!

I remember those "kitchen band" days with my own children.  Great noises in your poetry bring it all back!

Even though my kids are 12 and 15 now, when "La Bamba" starts playing the kitchen orchestra is there again.  LOL
Love this poem! I really do.

Wow, you've really got this onamatawhatever thing going!!! The right words and a story too. I guess you're gonna get the gold star in this class. I'm going back in the corner to smoke with the boys!!!

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Dr Moose,
I'll stick with the singing part...the kids seem to have the rest under control all by themselves! Thanks

Gee, I haven't had much time to spend with the spitball and watergun crowd in the workshop lately but I do peek in the window from time to time. Then this morning I stuck my head in the door and found this absolute jewel. I loved it. Thanks for writing Cindi. And thanks for bumping it back up Suzanne. I missed it the first time around.

Pete

BTW Tracey, what are you and the guys smoking over there?
