"Becoming One Where Once Were Two"

As we lay together in the night
Side by side, you and I,
With your soft, moist, pink, luscious lips slowly tempting me,
Sparkled droplets in your hair, glisten with the scent of you?
Soft prelude to love affair.

Come to me, come to me, into the night.
Take my love and hold me tight.
Let me fill your heart?s desire
With this torch I bare; this burning fire,
Feel my passion, feel my flame;
Say you love me, say my name.

Slowly moving in and out
Between the moment and surreal,
Taking but brief interlude
Before the coming of the dream.

Then begin the quickening; hearts beating in simpatico
When I looked into your eyes, and fell into your soul;
Two hearts, one mind,
Caught in rapture, bodies so entwined,
Like Mobius, a loop, with no end in mind.

Bodies in motion,
Heaving,
Thrusting,
Undulating pendulum, swinging in time,
River of emotion,
Seething,
Flowing,
Osculating rhythm, exploding in rhyme.

...and at the very moment, earth erupts, mountains soar;
Oceans crashing ?gainst the shore,
We come together in ascending glory,
Bursting through obscuring shrouds,
To float upon ethereal clouds.

Then, like snow on fluff of winter?s pillow; flitter soft down,
Lightly,
Gently,
Caressed,
Locked in love?s embrace,
Endlessly,
Endlessly,
Slowly spiraling down.

Feeling a little faint, I quiver and shake
While Holding your face in my hands like a gift from Aphrodite,
Back-lit moonbeams halo your hair
As it softly changes hue,
And lost in a momentary bliss,
I thus become of you,
And we become of this: Lines now blurred between
pain and pleasure; love and woe?
distorted, time stands still...or speeds up, I don?t know,
But I?m swept away, lost in you,
And you become all of me,
Becoming one, where once were two.

I think Nan will send you to the Principal this time.
You know I love this poem, although I love the original version even more.

Temptress --
Thanks, but I have to admit, I've been luking around in another forum here. After reading some of your poems, I felt the urge to get very amorous. I wanted to post this as I originally wrote it, but I think it would have been X-rated.

Kethry --
Thanks, I'll definitely do more. I've had a very good reason to be inspired lately.

Munda --
The Principal? I'm getting off easy. You know if I posted the original, Nan would have had me expelled.

This is so passionate! I felt like I might be intruding! Wonderful writing! ( I think I'll give my husband a call now)

Um... Yeah - well - I think I remember seeing some literary imagery in there - yeah - I'm sure it was there... Which lines were those, anyway??... something about "like Aphrodite"... wasn't it?....Going back to re-read now... um..

Principal?? I think this is "Superintendant" material...
