Footsteps of time tread cross a furrowed brow.
Whilst decades come and go like fleeting glance,
Traced passages enroute from then 'til now
Bare memories of love's bygone romance.

Whence paths askew enjoin one fateful day,
Remembrances of youth's embodied lust,
In testament that love can find its way
To meld as one with wisdom sharing trust.

Tomorrow's roads yield turns as yet unseen.
Uncommon ways ensuing years partake;
Lest not abide on that which might have been,
Embrace the bond of love for future's sake.

"A time for everything," spake endlessly;
Yet hearts which truly love wend timelessly...

Waft every crest upon your destined sea.
Embrace the Wave of Serendipity,
Lest its elusive arcane ecstasy
Refurl with sail for all eternity.

Nan,
it's no wonder you are the teacher and we are the student's. How I aspire to write like you.

Really, really nice one, Nan. I especially love the couplet.

I know I haven't been in class for a while but I do peek in the windows sometimes. Gosh, so many new faces in here these days.

Another treasure from you, my friend. Teaching by example is the best way!

Love for today and live for tomorrow--or is it the other way around. Excellent! Enjoyed it much.

I agree, this is why you are the teacher! This is so beautiful and lovely to read out loud. Sigh...I have so much to learn!
