When time is short one must think quick for me to get a passing grade fore-gone all of the "normal" schtick a proper poem just must be made For me to get a passing grade of words I use like building bricks a proper poem just must be made which like two clocks has twice the ticks Of words I use like building bricks I think that rhymes with marmalades which like two clocks has twice the ticks and once again I've been betrayed I think that rhymes with marmalades so often play these little tricks and once again I've been betrayed by house of cards I thought was slick So often play these little tricks I've left it all quite dis-arrayed by house of cards I thought was slick a king trumped by the ace of spades I've left it all quite dis-arrayed fore-gone all of the "normal" schtick a king trumped by the ace of spades when time is short one must think quick |

Pretty darn good Doc, pretty darn good ! I think you've come to the point where you can teach ME ! And as far as I know anything about meter...this looks like perfect iambic pentameter to me, but I'll leave that up to Nan though... hehe... By the way... what does "schtick" mean and where does it come from ? I couldn't find that word in any of my dictionaries, not even my Dutch one. Munda , Thanks for all the coaching ."Schtick" as far as I can figure is a slang term for a comedy act . Not quite sure of it's origins other than that .Hope you have a great holiday season . I'll be back with part two . Thanks again . Doc |

We'll all be learning Moose calls here - Doc, you've definitely mastered the rules sufficiently to break them properly... That, after all, was the goal, was it not???... |

Nan , You are correct as usual ( that's why you're the "Teach' ). I wonder if for New Years , if I were to resolve to follow the rules , how long that resolution would last ? Wishing all the best in the up-coming year and beyond . Doc |
