Well, I rehashed all ingredients, unsure whether Nan wanted them separate or altogether in one...

All I hope is that this is funny...

---------------------

Smoked in the water

Tearing up the sky,
lightning came striking
through charred clouds.
Evening sun was suddenly
a distant dream lying vacantly
in a dispirited corner.
Clouded were dark thoughts --
Visions swimming in Never Sea.

A peacock did a rain-dance
in tumultuous surroundings
bobbing head up and down--
left and right non-uniformly;
the metal fan head banging
at an mighty unseen wall
some divine intervention
helping his mission impossible!

It's all in the mind they say!
No. Not mine! Think what you may!
It just didn't seem right,
nor did it seem left to me,
I'd been to many rock shows
head-banged against unseen rocks
choosing freedom of expression
wetting myself in metallic rains!

I'd tied vermilion bandannas
just to hide lack of long hair -
had an obtuse 'crew cut' at work ~
cruel life as a consultant in software
worse still could've been in hard wear!
Though work in fashion would've been
interesting, since I could've had long hair
and worn those fancy leather wear
and micro-soft would just have been
another piece of designer wear!

Smoke smoked its way through as
cough earned its weight straightaway
"Smoke on the water" and
"Fire in the loused-up sky".
There was a hole somewhere
Burning through the clouds.
I screamed foul as loud as thunder
"What's the matter, mate?"
Asked the peacock, pokerfaced,
"Are you having a stroke or what?"
Fuming furiously as lightning itself,
I blared, "Shut up and kill your cigar!
You just smoked my soft wear,
and it really does kill my lunges"

~

Very cute, Sudhir... I didn't specify all together or separate so that we could all have some room to play - It looks you took advantage of every bit of it...
