OK..... We have "epics" on the agenda - I'm not sure I want to do that in January... It's a pretty heavy chaser for these sestinas...

You guys give me some of your thoughts - What would you like to see us work on? Input.. Input.. Input...

Let's do some brainstorming - Then we'll come up with a schedule......

Nan:

I think the ballad sounds like a good idea.

Not too picky here, though I would like to see a little more interaction (i.e. criticism, analysis, discussion) no matter what we do.

I am probably going to be made to look like the "bad girl" here (a designation I am perfectly comfortable with, BTW -- LOL), but I thought the idea was to get feedback, in order to improve our poetry?  We are all talented poets -- we can get "well done"'s in Open, Dark, whatever -- how about a little more in-depth on how we felt, what we read into it, etc?

Sigh.  Or am I just dreaming here?

I think I changed my mind.  I'm a little scared of the sounds of this epic thing but I could use a distraction from this double sestina.

P.S.  I agree with Kess.

Hmm, I was hoping for free/blank verse. : )
Seems to me you have two "bad" girls in class now Nan, as it happens I totally agree with Kess on criticism and analysis. ; )

I'm sorry everybody, for leaving the sestina up to you. I had some personal problems to deal with .....but I'm back ! : )

LOL - patience, guys - patience.... we'll get to everything... Just keep contributing your thoughts... and yes, of course we can get into more detail on the critique part...  All of you are more than welcome (even encouraged) to add your opinions... Poetry is a very subjective medium, ya know???
