Hi everyone. I just registered here and this is my first time posting. My name is Nikki and I'm 14 years old. I wrote the following poem after 2 ppl in my school comitted suicide just recently. Please let me know what you think. Thanks. ~~The Game Of Life~~ Life can be hard, I know all to well. Life can be tough, A living Hell. We all have our problems, But they will pass. If you can push past it all, The pain won't last. Cherish the good things in life, Cherish life itself. For we don't understand, Life is a gift of wealth. A gift from God, not to be abused. Don't throw away that gift, It still hasn't been used. Don't you see- All life really is is a game. Sometimes you're behind, Sometimes you're ahead. But if you hang in there, You'll win. Life is precious, though full of strife. But if you end it abruptly, You'll lose in the game of life. It's hard to get ahead, Without falling behind. But cheaters never prosper, To learn this game it takes time. Conquer your fears and hold onto the good things. Treasure the happiness and joy that life brings. So hold onto your gift of life. Don't waste it or end it, Because the pain you'll cause others, Is too deep for anyone to mend it. (And in the end you might regret it). |

Hi and welcome to Passions! Suicide is a horrible thing to have to deal with. It's always horrible when someone throws away the gift of life, as you say. Welcome to passions. This is such a tragic event to have to deal with. I don't think of life as a game though I always thought of it as a challange of your strength and sanity. But you are so right about life though you just have to deal with things. As i always say things will get better i'm living proof. Keep up the good writing hope to see more. Welcome to passions! (: Life is a game, perhaps the greatest game of all, always challaging, always has something devious up its sleves. A game true, but a most deadly serious game, the wrong move is instantly fatal, whilst the right one reaps great benefits and the difference between the two isn't always very clear. I have had friends prematurely end thier life, quiting this game, in the real permenet fashion. Its not a easy thing to accept, but writing helps, as i am sure you have discovered, however, its not always enough, i want to talk to someone who understands, my Email is in my profile. Your poem really brings back memories, not good ones, but this game is not always fair or even sane. Ah, sanity is useless in this game anyway, i better off without it (: !
