To the graduating class of 2000:

We all have a path that we must travel,
A path that leads us in different directions.
And although some of us are scared
We know in our hearts that we'll make it out there
all on our own.
But the memories we have made in these
past 4 years will never fade.
We've shared tears of pain and sorrow,
And tears of joy.
And as we walk across the stage,
some of us with tears in our eyes,
know that today truly is the
first day of the rest of our own lives.......

This poem is written for all of my friends that I have to part with and all of the ones I leave behind.

Gina~
I liked this, and I know we're probably both gonna cry on graduation day.  Well, I hope you'll keep in touch with me even when you go off to college...
Now, it's not the first day of the rest of our lives- today is...
Love ya babe,
Kristi Lynn

Sunshine-

LOL, I'm writing a poem right now to this same effect, a dedication to the graduating class of 2000, but yours is indeed excellent. I enjoyed reading it. And, yes, I probably will cry.

aaaawwwwww......i am going to cry when i graduate.....in 2 years   lol

nice and direct poem...an the idea of the first day of the rest of your lives is great...i think it symbolises a life started anew with recognised dependence

GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE GRADUATING POETS AT PASSIONS!!
ALL THE FAREWELLS AND TEARS SHOULD MAKE FOR SOME VERY DEEP AND MEANINGFUL POETRY

Bec

i never thought i'd die alone, i laughed the loudest who'd have known?
i traced the cord back to the wall, no wonder it was never plugged in at all
i took my time, i hurried up
the choice was mine i didn't think enough
I'm too depressed to go on, you'll be sorry when i'm gone
I never conquered, rarely came
16 just held such better days
Days when i still felt alive, we couldn't wait to get outside
The world was wide, too late to try
The tour was over i'd survived
I couldn't wait till i got home, to pass the time in my room alone
I never thought i'd die alone, another six months I'll be unknown
Give all my things to my friends, you'll never set foot in my room again
You'll close it off, board it up
Remember the time i spilled the cup
Of apple juice in the hall, please tell mum this is not her fault
I never conquered, rarely came
But tomorrow holds such better days
Days when i can still feel alive, when i can't wait to get outside
The world was wide, the time goes by
The tour is over, i've survived
I can't wait till i get home, to pass the time in my room alone
