here i lay upon a vortex
one of swirling emotions and desires
my body lies lifeless
gagged and bound in mocking turmoil

my head is in confusion
an overwhelming force compresses my senses
i reach to my eyes and feel the warm secretion
my lips taste the saltyness of the tears

my vulnerable body has been exposed
but to the naked eye my peril lay sheathed
for the bleeding of my heart is within
and the blood runs cold out of sight

the emptyness that i clasp in my palm
remnants of memories of what was there
the quivering of my lonely shoulders
they need the shawl of your arms

warmth escapes my life
beside me where you layed and gave me security
the worn space is cold and empty
i stroke the pillow upon which your head did rest

normality has returned and i claw at the boundaries
a longing for the surreal experience we shared
with you at my side the world offered hope and love
without you the grey reality had returned

i'll remember the way you held me in your arms
the way in which you kissed me passionately
your hand as it stroked my face
your smile as we shared the essence of life

apart then together, now apart again
distance plays a dangerous and heart wrenching game
not apart forever may be
but what is to become of the heart on display?

what is to become of my heart?

hey, that is a very well written poem, if a very sad one. I really need to stop reading these things before I go to sleep, now I'm going to be thinking sad thoughts.... ah well, very nice poem.

"Sa souvraya niende missian ye." \
I am lost in my own mind.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice
From what I've tasted of desire,
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great,
And would suffice.
