Sitting on the couch opening a box she felt the years slip back to a time and a place when she was a different person Her heart was too far gone when she gave him his ring back His was too near to let her go They fought with pride, love, and anger before finally giving up The picture, now faded and aged, smiled up at her little did she know at that same moment, he was looking at the same picture too far away He knelt down each night whispering a prayer that she'd come back to him and it would be all right But as it was then, and still is now, her heart is too far gone. |
