For the one that got away. A single tear rolls down may face, A silver trail burning it’s way through my heart, I haven’t been a sinner, But I haven’t been a saint, And this is hurting me more than you’d believe, I’ve tried to float on angel’s wings, I’ve tried to understand the lyrics, But the current always drags me further out, I swam as hard as I could, But I guess I had to drown, And now that you’re leaving me, I want you to know you’ll take my heart with you, I tried to be what you wanted me to be, I tried to be the one, But things will never be the same again, I’ll never take the chance, I’ll be too busy thinking of the love I lost, Thinking about my breaking heart, My heart lonely without you, You’ll never turn back, You’ll never think of all you left behind, There’s only one way for you now, You’ll go forwards, Not back, I’ve given up on hope, I’ve given up on regret, I’ve given up on this life falling apart, All I know is the pain. |
