dear lyricfetish,

the cure are alternative? whoa... first i'd heard of them being called that *hehe*.  i have to say that i think that Alice In Chains, Weezer, and Soundgarden really should be in there somewhere (gotta pull for my bands, ya know?).  Good job on putting the Pumpkins, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and a number of the other "old time" alternative bands in though.  i guess i'm out of touch nowadays *heh*.

sincerely,
the beautiful freak

p.s. -- aren't Black Flag, mxpx, the offspring, greenday and (dare i say the accursed name? -- sorry, can't stand this band) blink 182 punk bands?

Ahhh this is very good. However you are missing Killing Heidi (ye old Aussie band) and a bit of NIN!!!

However Mellon Collie, punk bands are still a type of alternative

Either way, all the bands in there ruled!!

dear anonymousfemale,
i'm with you on the nine inch nails thing, but i'm still going to hold stubbornly to my punk question.  punk was pre-alternative.

just furthering my stubborn nature,

I love this.  It's great!
I must say to Mellon Collie, that they may be punk bands, but if they play their music on ALTERNATIVE radio stations, then they can be considered alternative, even if it's just for this.

Thank you all for the compliments, this took forever to write.
Melon Collie - I know that some of the bands were "punk", others "hardcore" or "rock", I just wanted to label them generally. Black Flag, MXPX and Blink 182 are all played on Houston's main alternative station, so I think they can fit into this along with classic alternative such as Creed, Lit and Filter.
And everyone, I had to skip over even some of my fav bands <metallica for example> because they didn't correspond w/ my letter scheme. But all my friends are telling me this is cool as is, so I'm not too concered about minor details. Again thanks, and I'd love to hear anyone's input.

Hey, that's cool Mellon Collie, no hard feelings. I wasn't mad or hurt or anything. Well, except for the Blink 182 thing, they rock! <matter of opinion> So, be cool, peace out, brush your teeth.

This a cool idea!!! I am not into Alternative music so I don't know much of the groups you named. I think that it is a cool kind of poem though!!

Love and hugs,
