Floating gently on a cloud....

Passions in Poetry

Passions, to me, is a great place to be.
When I found it I was alone,
But now it is my family.
A family that shares and is willing to listen,
A collection of poems that, like diamonds, glisten.

When I am here, I feel so warm,
This is the best place to shelter from life’s storms.
No one has laughed at my poor attempts at poetry,
Have you any idea  how much that means to me?
Passions is my second home, I hope that doesn’t sound lame,
It warms me within like a bright, glowing flame.

Ron, you are an angel, how did you create such a wonderful place...
Free from prejudice of colour, size. looks or race.
Every time I visit my heart starts to sing,
This haven truly has given my soul wings.

I have laughed, I have cried,  I have smiled, I have sighed.
About my feelings I have never had to lie.
Passions is a gift that fills me with delight,
From life’s burdens it gives me respite.

Passions, for me, has opened a door,
It has a special place in my heart for evermore.

I wish you could see my hands clapping
This was a great tribute to passions, I feel the same way along with everyone else here.
Keep up the good work

I know how you feel! I can't tell you how many times I have read someone's work and thought that (if I was more talented!) I might have written that about my own situation. It really helps to know that there are other people out there with the same stuff going on. And even if there isn't, the people here are always willing to listen.
This was a great poem about Passions, and I'd like to thank everyone here for all the support they have given to me and everyone else.

This place really is like a second home, a safe haven from our every-day life where we can be ourselves freely and be accepted. I liked the way you expressed this in the form of a poem, perfect way to do it, huh? Great job!

Dear Esp; What a beautiful poem and so well written. I feel exactly the same way you do. I'm visiting from the "Spiritual Forum", and we are like a family there too. I just popped in to read a little. I'm a Mom of six and my youngest is 12, so I was curious what kind of poetry teens were writing and reading your poem was pure joy! Ellie

Hi there. I just wish you were able to see the tears in my eyes. This poem...oh I am speechless! Although I am a new member here I already feel that bond that you speak of.
Wonderful poem, I hope everyone has a chance to read it.

Thank you

i love passions too
makes me forget the woes of the day.
i wrote a poem on how great passion is when i first started here

THE BEAUTY OF PASSIONS IN POETRY

to sit and read i do enjoy
poems are reality and beyond
a tear is shed a smile is to be had
a verse for the day i hold fond
creating a piece and posting
a thrill i can't deny
to be proud of a piece of work
then for there to be an encouraging reply
what keeps the poets mind nimble
is not that of love, hate or pain
it is the feeling of being appreciated
a form of low scale fame
for why would we write
if eyes would never fall upon our art?
the truth is that we write for ourselves
to share with others from the heart
for now dusk is approaching
the end of the day is near
for now i will retire
but at dawn i will return here

keep up the posts
