We were the best of friends,
then she came between us.
Its not fair, its not right,
I loved you, now I can't.

I can't even say hi,
Without her being there.
I cry for this and that,
No one really knows why.

You were the only one,
That could hug me just right.
I can't even see you,
without her being there.

Its not fair, its not right,
That I have to go on,
Without calling you "friend"

Lovely poem, I'm sure you can still be friends I just think that maybe you're still holding onto being more.
When you're able to let go of that, I think you will see that being friends can work.

Believe me I know exactly where you are coming from. I had a best friend and then this little so 'n' so came in and I could never get her alone to talk to her or anything. Don't worry about it but if being friends is too hard try to let go and find someone worthy of holding onto a friendship.
