They say I'm easily loved…
how can that be,
when nobody loves me?
I just want to cry,
but I know I can't,
he always said
I was cute when I cried.
just an excuse
to see me in pain,
which is what he really loved.
They say I'm easily loved,
But I'm even more
Easily forgotten,
So tell me,
Am I easily loved,
Or am I easily forgotten?
Or, could it be
I show my heart too soon?
They say I'm easily loved…

tamma: not to sound "preachy", but the more easily you give away your love, the more often you will be hurt by the recipient... i dont think the two things you're talking about are mutually exclusive... i think they often go hand-in-hand...

sincerely,
jerome the mysterious priest

"guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life"

 Disarm you with a smile
And leave you like they left me here
To wither in denial
The bitterness of one who's left alone

That which we want the most we give away so readily.  Some take advantage of this when it comes to love.  Someone once said that the one who loves the least controls the realtionship.  This probably leads to more unhappiness than anything else.
I enjoyed your poem, actually all your work is good.
Keep writing and be strong.

I agree that being easy to love means easy to hurt.  Some people just are that way in life.  Others find it far to easy to hurt than love.  Just share what you are...for you are what you share.  And in doing that you will reap the rewards that come in the sharing.

This was well written and heartfelt, Tamma I'd hate to see you guard your heart totally just be who you are and as danny said just be a little stronger but not harder if you know what I mean  HUGS tracie

This is rather tragic...

~he always said
I was cute when I cried.
just an excuse
to see me in pain,~

You nailed this!...surround yourself with people who find you beautiful when you smile... ...The right kind of people can do wonders for your whole perception of love...

This is wonderful portrayal of a problem plaguing many of us...

Keep your chin up...and keep writing...

and in between
the calm inside me
in the space
where I can breathe...

I thought you did a very good job. YOu sound like you are in much pain. And when you think nobody loves you, you might not notice people who do. Someone might like you or love you for that matter but just be scared or embaressed to express that to you. I hope you find love in all the right places. Good job.
