I wrote this for my friend Kate, who is very upset because a good friend of hers was just killed in a car crash.

I know things may be tough
And every thought-every song
You think of her
And the undeniable fact
That she is gone
But-
Try if you can
To not think
Just remember she'll always be in your heart
And you'll never forget her smile
Or maybe the way she laughed
Yes, the memories will fade
But they will be just that-
Memories
And memories last forever

So remember
It's okay to cry
It's ok to remember her
But also remember
That she was your friend
And she always will be.

singer: well, i have mixed feelings about the idea behind this poem... i believe strongly in the healing power of grieving... but i do think it's extremely touching and compassionate of you to care about your friend so much    for that, if not for your obvious talent in writing, i must commend you...

sincerely,

A savage place! as holy and enchanted
As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover!

Wow... I know your friends pain. I just lost my bestfriend (like a brother) in a car accident two weeks ago. It is hard but, it is very important for her to get closure on the subject. One word of advice for you a friend: Don't smother her! She needs her time to thing and get the pain out of her system. I'm still working on it but you'll notice a change in a week or so. Tell your friend I will be praying for her.

I wish I could have had this poem about a year ago. My best friend's (like my sis) bf was killed in an accident and she took it very hard, this poem would have really helped her I'm sure.
