Moderators Moderators They came for a far,
Now it is my turn to entertain them thus par.
I will give it my best,
No turing back now.
How should I start?
Only to fall?!!
I hope not,
I have entertained you for alittle while with my work so far.
I hope you like what I can do,
Your portrey is special I'm no fool.
Moderators are like great impotant teachers.
So teach me,
How do I become great such as you?.
Moderators I just want you to know that your special to me,
I am still a student.
I have a request I would love to here your ideals, your thoughts, anything you wish.
I accept the critism,
Because it will just make me better.
Moderators I just want to say keep up the good work,
For all of us.
In my final words I want ot say to alwye, marilyn and of course poetry_kills lets no forget jer.
You are all unique in your special way some of you have poems about death and alot have about life just keep up the good work.

jytree: well *heh* i'm a fairly new moderator... i'm not all that wise and i'm not all that great a poet either... we all have a long way to go... as for becoming a better poet, i can only tell you what i did personally to improve (and yes, even though it's hard to believe, i used to write even WORSE than i do now)... i read everything... the classics (especially poets like John Donne, Milton, Shakespeare and all the Romantics like Coleridge and Shelley)... then i started trying to mimic their styles... i found that by learning to write in metered and rhymed verse that my "free verse" naturally flowed much more smoothly and rythmically... if you dont know where to find any of the classics, you could start by going to my homepage's poetry section... a lot of my favorites are posted there (under "classics of literature)... the address is http://xellos.tripod.com ... also, you can improve by reading and responding to some of the more experienced on this forum... you can actually interact with these people... email them questions about form and about ideas they have... some of my favorites poets to look at for high-level poetry are Balladeer, armanca, Skyfyre, Christopher, Michael, Marilyn, jbouder, bsquirrel, poertree, haze, Poet de Vine and Jer (apologies to anyone i left out   )... most of those poets post in either the critical analysis or open forums... (armanca posts in dark passions) well, there's a few suggestions for you... the best thing i can tell you though is READ READ READ!!... you'd be surprised what you might uncover...

sincerely,
jerome the mysterious priest

A savage place! as holy and enchanted
As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover!

Hey... thank you so much for the poem. I realy like the poem but, I can't stand spelling mistakes. Here, I've made the changes.

Thank you for your kindness!  And as for Jerome and Jer's advice, listen to them!  They both know quite a bit.  I'd like to echo Jerome and say "READ READ READ!" It's one of the best ways to learn, trust me!
