Caught off guard
You're heart skips a beat
The unexpected is shown
To unforseen eyes
A smile smeared
Upon a face so pale, so cold
Unthinkable desires of heartache
Are brought before
Untainted apparitions

Shadows of the unwilling
Return the favors you've offered
Immersed with words
And not a single thing to say
A blank stare unfolds on
What is shown before you
Immersed with tears
And not a single blink of the eye

"It's my heart that pounds beneath my flesh
it's my mouth that pushes out this breath..."-FTE

Lovely poem.  Very good.

nights: yet another beautiful piece... hurry up and write something bad so i'll have some substance to my critique    (actually i like it when i dont have to pick something apart)... very solid and meaningful work...

sincerely,
jerome the boy with no brain

A savage place! as holy and enchanted
As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover!
~Coleridge
