In the space between moments

Brrrr....I am so tired of winter!  So, time to bring out the spring poem!

A sunlit whisper's touch
Shivering across my skin
Breezes shifting
Pastel feathered within the sky
Color softly combines
Melting into perfection
Emotion filled mists float
Soothing tender souls
Antique roses climb
Encircling spring boughs
Scents so light, fresh
Lifting my wintered heart
Into silvered sunshine
Cashmere wings of white
Carry away the cold
Along with my bitterness
Leaving me free
As the pearled blooms
Destined to flower
Within this newborn vision
Now within the sweetness
I simply exist as me
And the renewed innocence
I so gently breathe.

 *Krista Knutson*

~*Like a lion, without fear of the howling pack,
Like a gust of wind, ne'er trapped in a snare,
Like a lotus blossom, ne'er sprinkled by water,
Let me, like a unicorn, in solitude roam.*~ Hymn Of Buddha

Awesome poem Krista.  Ahh, I love spring!  I can't wait until I can go outside again and feel cool grass under my feet and the boundless, starry heavens over my head.  (reminescing      ) Ahh remember May of last year?  I can't wait until we can do that again, I'm getting tired.

Think I went off on a tangent... Hehehe.. sorry, great poem Krista, enjoyed it a lot, second time through even

Very good poem, however its very hard for me to judge free verse. Agree with you, I hate this cold. This poem reminded me of one of my own. It went something like this:

Spring sprung so unexpected
From melting snow
I stood in awe
Observed perfection of its flow
So flawlessly performed
Each pitch connected
Played by the notes
Reformed in form
So worthy of great words
And yet neglected
My soul alone became affected
Pecked by the rain
In gained commotion
Grain after grain
I drained emotion
In proper fashion
Gentle motion
In passing rage
And raging passion
Unto the page
