just about where I want to be

A fog covers the trees
Rainbows appear
in the dew-covered grass
The silence is golden

Deep in the foliage,
A twig snaps
Is it a majestic animal, like a lion?
Or a humble animal..like a turtle?

A shadow passes over me
IS it an eagle? or a falcon?
Was that a snake? or the sound of a distant breeze?

The sounds fill the air..
The monkey starts chattering
The hippos wake from their watery bed

The sound of frogs
Jumping into the water fill the air
The distant roar of a lion
can be heard

I lift my hands
And close my eyes
What a wonderful feeling
The forest is alive

has anyone read this poem yet?

For every truth, there is an ear somewhere to hear it
For every love, there is a heart somewhere to receive it".--Ivan Panin

This is truly lovely.  I love forests, especially rainforests, and this says one of things I love about it:

What a wonderful feeling
The forest is alive

That says it all.  Nice poem.  And I'm sure people read your lovely poetry; they just sometimes don't reply.  At least, that's what I hope is happening when so many poems go unread, like mine and a lot of others.  Doesn't change the fact that this poem is completely lovely.  Like the rest of your poetry.

Lavada~~  I liked your poem, and although the title wasn't something I would've considered reading usually, I know you're a good poet and I gave it a chance.  Good job, chica...

Interesting poem. Not something I thought I would read on V-DAY but it was nice.

I liked this one a lot. I too love the forest.  Nicely done, keep it up!
