My boyfriend wrote this to me. It is very, very lengthy, but it is really special to my heart. I think you'll understand why. Gestures of the Heart It is written that roses are red and violets are blue, All I ever wanted to do, was to stand beside you. I think I fell in love when I saw you smile, I feel the same, although we've been apart for a while, I think I loved you when I first heard you speak, A voice expressed into my heart, which was then so weak. I may not have shown you, who I really was, Partly because my heart does what it does. Also, I was scared I'd make you run away, Because you're kind and gentle, I just wanted you to stay. I always tried to express my true feelings to you, Because you're my roses of red and violets of blue. A single tear falls when our talks cease to exist, Because I know I've never felt my heart like this. You start the light in my eyes like a raging fire, All my feelings wrapped up in my emotional desire. I've never known love like I have before, I'll always run to you like the waves onto the shore. I've always wanted you to see deep inside my heart, Been in love with yours right from the start, What if I were as sweet as I could be? Would you ever fall in love with me? What if I took you and made you only mine? Would we be together until the end of time? Do you tryly know what the greatest feeling is? If you listen carefully I'll tell you what is, Love is the greatest feeling in the world, And you are more precious than any diamond or pearl. That feeling has become overwhelming in my heart, I've shown you the love I have right from the start. You always seem to cry when I speak of such sweet things, You are the reason my lonely heart sings. Seeing your smile is a sight for my weary eyes, I can't tell you how I feel, no matter how hard I try. Everytime I tried, I just tightened up inside, Couldn't break down my wall of overwhelming pride. YOu are my red roses and my lovely blue violets, The time has come to no longer be silent. I don't care who knows how I feel, What I feel in my heart has suddenly become real. I've always dreamed that you felt the same, But I never got the chance to get past my shame. I want to be the one with you, without any cares I want to show my love for you, no matter when or where. But maybe I should back away and forget the whole ordeal, If I did that, then you'd know not how I feel, You may thing that what I say are of just mere words, But if I said nothing then I would go unheard, I never want to let you go so you can fly away, If you ever left my side then I'd be led astray, I only want to love you with every part of me, I'll be greater than the greatest thing ever thought to be, My heart is just an instrument in which I learn to play, The song I sing to you is special in every way. I then become strong when I take a look around, Never to lose sight of this masterpiece I've found. You never knew that you hold part of my heart, That way you'll have a part of me while we're apart. YOu are as important to me as anyone can be, Hopefully, one of these days you'll soon see. That you are a part of me that beats and truly thrives, I want to spend with you, what is the rest of both our lives. Just let me know, and I will try to understand, I only want to be the one to hold your lonely hand, I just hope the gestures here are not made in vain, Then they will burn my heart like a warm july rain. I don't thgink that I've felt like this towards anyone, But you are as beautiful as the morning sun, YOu may not feel like me or never will again, No matter how I feel you'll always be my friend. All I'm asking for is a chance to show you how I feel, I'll never break your heart, and trust me I'm for real. My love for you will continue and outgo the course of time, The question that I'm trying to ask is will you be mine? |

I understand why, Leigh. This is very beautiful. You are lucky to have such a caring and loving boyfriend! And almost rather poetic. |
