I yearn to write and yet my hand does shake,
I cannot capture what I felt on paper.
Your lips mixed with the fountain water make
Great Expectations seem much greater!

We stood between The Towers like two giants
And mocked the golden bull without a fear,
Believing there was nothing real in science
We held on tight to what we felt was dear.

The time flew quickly on the Cupid’s wings
And caught us while we were in flight.
A heart turns only stronger if it sings
And love grows greater if it can abide.

A mirror shatters like a broken heart
Reflections scatter, but not one will part.

I fell in love and kept on falling

I so enjoy reading your work. I would be interested in knowing what form this was written in. First I thought a sonnet but the syllable count is off. Then I realized that the lines are uneven in the count. Is this a free verse poem?

The poem is lovely no matter the form but being a student of form (learning) I am interested in knowing.

I was going for a sonnet, but I didn't really succeed! LOL Consider it what you like!
