Life goes by in a flashing instant, Memories past are now cold and distant. I blinked my eyes for just one second, I missed your sign, when you beckoned. Now the moment is gone forever, Your string of life the Fates did severe. I close my eyes in hopes to forget, The fire in me you once fiercely lit. A tear drips down my frozen cheek, Silent solace within I now seek. I shed that tear for you, for me, The obvious love you did not see. I must move forth, plodding on, In time, the pain might be gone. There's no going back, no return, My eyes must open, I must learn, What is here now may not stay, Take your chance, seize the day. |
