i'm sittin' here in the lunchroom
back in my poetry mode
stuck sitting with my preppy ex-friends
and i'm gonna call this my lunchroom ode.

some people are eating
others think they'll get thin
so some are just sitting there
adding to the din.

there are people of all kinds
preppy and not
and i'm sitting here stuck
with the ones i don't want

there's nowhere for me to sit
cuz they think i don't belong
and they are right in a way
but mostly in the wrong

cuz they are no better than me
even though they think they are
but i can tell you this right now
i'm the one that's gonna go far

i just gotta get out of this lunchroom
and be with the people who like me for me
cuz whenever i'm outta the lunchroom
i'm all of me that i wanna be!

Yes, the lunchroom.  It is more than a place to eat.  But, that's not always a good thing.
