This summer you and I got close I'm not really sure what for But then I found out, to you-it was just a summer fling But to me, it meant so much more You and I were close We held hands everywhere we went Although we weren't really "going out" It seemed like it because of all the together-time we spent We spent it at the beach, splashing in the waves I could never forget those sunny fun-filled days We went to the movies night after night It just all seemed so special It just all seemed so right Then, you and I- we kissed And you told me that you liked me alot It seemed like you and I were meant to be It didn't require any more thought We spent the days together And we were up all night on the phone There was hardly a time that summer When you and I were alone I still can't understand how come September, the magic disappeared What I dreaded June through August It was exactly what I feared Your feelings for me changed You were now just my best friend The loving feeling in your stomach fizzled That magic all through summer came to an end This summer, you and I got close I'm not really sure what for To you-it was just a summer fling But to me, it meant so much more |
