inside you there's something
that knows what others don't
you smile over nothing
as they take another swig
you shake your head
as they light up again
they think life is great,
for the moment
you don't need that.
you never smoke
lung cancer, you say
you don't drink
"i need my liver"
and drugs...
i like to think, is your responce
now they laugh,
and stumble around
what about tomorrow?
they're back to reality
you don't need that.
because you're happier
than anyone i know
who does need that
that is why i envy you,
and love you

Being the magical lizard like creature I am...drugs, smoking, and alcohol do not affect me in any way. Meaning, they do not ruin my body...however, they don't get me high...so what's the point?

I have never done drugs but I have had friends who have. The consequenses are devistaing. Prision time to a fried brain. I have seen some bad highs. This stuff will kill you. It will do it in one of two ways. Slowly or very fast. It slowly eats at the brain cells and you turn into your worst nightmare. If you do not believe me...that is fine...your body, your choice. I would not like to know you 10-15 years from now if you choose the slow death.

marilyn, i think you misunderstand me. i have never tried any kind of drugs, i have never smoked, and i do not drink alot at all. stephani, i can't really tell you the point of getting high because i've never done it. all i can say is that the person that the poem is about is very important to me in many ways. one of which is due to his strength, he never seem to feel temptation. i would sugest either finding someone like this to help you or, better yet, becoming this type of person yourself. i can't personally dot hat, but am very lucky to have a friend who can.
