I think everyone has to be aware of the domestic abuse in this world. Please if u see any one who looks like they are beaten bit her family or spouse. or if you see a friend of yours whose b/f follows her everywhere and asks her where she's going make shore your ready for WATS coming next....,if your in murrow
please go during your opta and visit the "clothesline projects" on the 2nd floor in the TV studios for more info...if your nto in murrow and your interested in getting the message out please contact me asap before it happens again, butn this time not to a stranger,to one of us.im not very effeminate and I walked out in tears, IM ending this letter with a song from Tracy Champion.

Last night I heard the screaming
Loud voices behind the wall
Another sleepless night for me
It won't do no good to call
The police
Always come late
If they come at all

And when they arrive
They say they can't interfere
With domestic affairs
Between a man and his wife
And as they walk out the door
The tears well up in her eyes

Last night I heard the screaming
Then a silence that chilled my soul
I prayed that I was dreaming
When I saw the ambulance in the road

And the policeman said
"I'm here to keep the peace
Will the crowd disperse
I think we all could use some sleep"

T.C.

if we dont stop it now...Who knows...Let me leave u with this short storys,

Maybe one day you will be like Ana<dif name> May she rest in peace.
She will be greatly missed by her mother, her father and family, but most of all will me missed by her boyfreind who loved her so much,he beat her to death.

Violence is truly much too prevalent in this society. I can't even go to school and voice my opinion without fear of getting in a fight....my boyfriend walks in his neighboorhood only if armed with a cane or other protection, and he's a big guy, over 6 ft and 200 lbs.....a girl I know was abused by her mother, and then went on to abuse her friend in much the same way...and ended up losing that friend........if only society could be more mature about things and NOT using violent means to settle problems, the world would be such a better place.

Violence is a major problem where I live. When I go to school there's at least 1-2 fights daily. My aunt was the subject of an abusive relationship for 20 something years. The only way she got out was because of her husbands death. I myself, am anti-violent. I avoid the situation, and I guess that's why I've never went for the mocho type guy. VIOLENCE JUST ISN'T AN OPTION!

There is something that you all need to understand. There is little you can do for the woman unless she wants to get out. It has to be her decision because she will go back if it is not. I lived in an abusive relationship for many years. Two years ago I got out. You could not have told me anything before that time. I would have (and did) make excuses. There are many poets here at passions that have experienced this first hand as well. They will also tell you that you could have done nothing to change their minds until they made the decision.

The thing about abuse you need to know is the feeling of helplessness. A woman abused has no self esteem and feel powerless to do anything about the situation. The fear of being alone over comes the pain and physical violence. The knowledge that you can not servive without this person is driven into you day after day, week after week. If you become aware of this situation what you need to do (if allowed) is build up that person, give them a belief in themselves. For only personal inpowerment will help a person in this situation.

The physical damage heals much faster then the emotional and mental scars. That is where they need your help the most. Stand by them even when you do not like the things that are happening. This is the only way to battle this brutal offense that runs so rampant in our society.

I've never known what it was like to be at the hands of a physical abuser, but my mother was and so were my older sisters, all by my grandfather. MY mother has many issues that she cant deal with and my whole life I have had to deal wiht her emotional abuse, because she never knew how to not be like this. It has taken alot to learn taht it's not all my fault, my dad and I both want to help her get past this, and maybe one day I'll like her more. I love her but cant stand to be around her becuase she unintentionally hurts people emotionally all the time. People say that this type of abuse is not as bad as physical, but emotional problems normally take more to face up to and to deal with. But to anyone with any type of abuse, I wish the best of luck.

I myself unfortunately know firsthand what its like to put up with abuse in all forms. Sometimes those flashbacks are what set me off on yet another suicide mission. As Marilyn did, I also made up many excuses. I denied everything, because I was scared of what would happen if I told.

Even now, not a day goes by that I don't see some form of violence. I wish people would get it through their heads that violence only makes more problems, and it doesn't solve any.

That is right Mike...as I said...you can not make some see something they do not or are not ready to see. Be there, callt he authorities, do what you must BUT remember it is their choice to go back to the situation. Sometimes it is the only security these people know. All situations are different, all we can do is be there and give information. Knowledge is power!
