october embers have drifted to my door...
i gather the in a sphere of sighs-
vanilla and loose.
they strech as a curtain
laced in the breezy caresses upon my balcony
window.
softly entangled in webs of mist
they nod and still they have
spread like a smile, these october embers
to my door.
i have never known such surrender before.
waves invisible, insecure and unopposible
have blown in circles;
they thoughtfully shoot in arcs.
so fickle and beautiful, all
these october embers
that have sought my shore.
i have sense wisdom in liberty.
perfect and bruised, authentic and
natural, they pilot the petals of
whispered love.
they are windswept: unassuming,
even modest, like
the liquid locks of children who
play with the dusk
and drink it like honey.
kindly they dont think; they just come
like wings sweet of rememberence.
silently they drift, these october embers,
these flakes of love, understanding,
and death to my door....
i hold them forever more.
