The Dream That Ended Too Soon (repost)

Gradually dusk falls upon the land,
Engulfing the world in darkness.
No longer can you see the sun,
The midnight hour is upon us.
A cold wind sweeps down through the streets
Whilst I lie awake in bed,
And I must pull tight the sheets,
And rest my weary head.
Then I slowly close my eyes,
And dream of you and me.
The stars soon cover the night sky,
They are the only light you can see.
And I am safe and warm inside,
When I'm dreaming of the things that could be.
Where there is nothing we can hide.
Then I see your handsome face
And we are in eachother's arms,
Feeling secure in our embrace,
Protected from all harm.
Then slowly the darkness fades away,
And light fills my quiet room.
What was night has turned into day.
My dream was over too soon.
