California! Yeah! Okay, I'm done now

Sandy shores run to the horizon
Cooling waves smash onto dry land
Liquid and solid
battle eternal
one with fluidy grace
the other with solid support
Roaring defience
the sea crashes into the cliff
Standing silent
the rocky face stands patient
Defeated, water recedes, gathers, and smashes
Strong, rock stills, waits, and stands

Laughing, rock mocks the seas
its whispery voice echoing
wind traveling through caves
Jeering, patience is justified
time far behind it and ahead
diamonds grinning in sunlight

"Why roar at me so?
Why fight my supremecy over weakling water?
You've crashed ages, drying up, and here I still stand
Calm seas, let your life flow by itself
Fight me no more"

Majestically watching
mountains watch over the land
Hiding treasures
gems glitter from within
Gathering together
life walks from water

Let me be your rock
Let me support you with strength
Let me be your land
Where you have your freedom
Let me be your mountain
To rise to your full height
Let me be your soil
So that you can grow with life
Let me be your island
Where the sea cannot touch you
Let me be yours

Crying, water gentled, the storm calming
its moans like pebbles falling
silky like a rumbling purr
Sobbing, hissing impatience is heard
the spray flying into the air like spurting anger
whales, dolphins, waves dancing

"Why defy so diligently?
Why protect yourself with cowardly silence?
You've stood ages, breaking up, and here I still am
Dry rock, let yourself go
Defend from me no more"

Encompassing everything in its reach
water caresses, surrounds, swallows
Smoothly giggling over rocks
thunder erupts from waterfalls
Calm pools gathering
life is given to dry deserts

Let me be your water
Let me keep you alive
Let me be your stream
So that hope continues with you
Let me be your waterfall
Giving you peace
Let me be your pond
To give you a moment's rest
Let me be your sea
Where harsh rock cannot touch you
Let me be yours

Stretching beyond sight
waves rise up in defience
rocks shield high in protection
Fighting eternally
Lasting time
Separate elements
Let me be your water: accepting fully
Let me be your land: offering support

Stretching far into the future
calm seas break
land softens
Working together
Silently the same
You need them both
Let me be your water: to give you life
Let me be your land: to let you live
Like water and land
you need them together
No matter the battles
No matter the differences
To live without the other
Is to live without life

Great job on the poem...I liked how you wove in the rock and the water...this is a fab part:

Encompassing everything in its reach
water caresses, surrounds, swallows
Smoothly giggling over rocks
thunder erupts from waterfalls
Calm pools gathering
life is given to dry deserts
