i watch to see the newest trend,
who's who, what's what.
rock show's and video's are without end.
alway's looking for who made 'the cut'
"Video Killed the Radio Star"
now they have to have the look
and not just the sound.
you tell me all i need to know
about the world according to me.
i can lose all ties with reality
in your endless hours of disillusionment.
all is well in the world you create.
(although the pain doesn't escape)
Music Television and so much more.
you send me pictures i can't erase,
images i see, and can't ignore.
i hold my life up to your screen
to see if i'm what i should be.
a beauty queen with lots of money,
a rock star who gets all the 'honey's'
goals that are unattainable, but
make me watch you all the more.
there are moments
when i learn a thing or two.
what real people say,
what real people do.
through others eyes i view the world.
the more i watch you
the less thinking i have to do
and it's so much easier to
say what you say,
wear what you wear,
and do what you do,
than to be myself.

Oh, I must agree with this.....there are too many shallow, materialistic ideals in the world.

------------------
Thinking is just what a great many people think they are doing when they are merely rearranging their predjudices.

Yes, definetely. T.V. bases such un-real characters on the way real people are supposed to be and act.

I agree that TV does have too much influence over people. What we have to do is take the material in front of us with a grain of salt. We can not let it be that great of an influence over us.
