As the day wears on
And time flys by
I can't help but ask why.
Why, did my grandfather have to die?
He was kind, loving, and sweet.
With intelligance all could see.
All of us knew he was ill.
But we didn't know it could kill.
Sometimes it gets to me, And makes me cry
And I don't know why.
I know you are to feel sarrow and grief
but I want peace
In this aching heart you see.
When he was ill I felt his pain
Like it was in my very own veins
But still I can't help but wonder
Why, Oh Lord did you take him on his
Wedding Day?

*~~~~R.I.P ROBERT PERRY "PAPA"~~~~~*
On August 27 my grandfather died of cancer. They didn't really pinpoint where it had started because it had spread so much. I really miss him. The reason I said "WHy, Oh Lord did you take him on his wedding day." Because 3 hours after he got married he died. My grandmother died of breast cancer 5 years ago. And on the day my grandfather got married to the other lady it was my real grandfather and mothers anniversary. I just want to tell you that it is hard to lose both grandparens to the same disease. Now my mother has breast cancer and they are saying it is a gen. So that gen is passed down from generation to generation. So that means I could be next in line.

I know how you feel. My grandfather is very sick right now in a nursing home. I wish, like you, that I could prevent dying of our loved ones. Very expressive poem.
