The pins in my hands,
the cuts on my arms,
What do they say?
What do they mean?

You tell me I'm manic,
You tell me I'm depressive,
But how do these words
help ease my pain?

The pins come out
The scars may heal.
but their fading won't
affect how I feel.

Chaos circles
throughout my head
I feel as though
I might better be dead.

Then the pins return
The scars come back
There is no pain
Just quick release

Then again I vow,
Never Again!
But it's really just
A matter of when.

Matt, I told you in OP3 that this was a wonderful poem, and I'll repeat it here. Self mutilation is a terrible thing...but it affects more people than one would think. Now if you can find an incentive, a reason,to stop....most of the battle is won right there. It worked for me.

yeah, my original post was here, but with all the chaos of the server switch it looked as though this might never be back. Anyway, I've only done it once and haven't since. I try to write a poem about all my significant experiences in life however, despite whether they're continued or one-time actions.

I have to say that this is something I can relate to. When I was thirteen, I went through the whole self-mutilation thing. It's something that I hate, because I have been left with multiple scars. Not only physically, but mentally, and emotionally also. I really liked the poem though......
