I spoke to God alone last night
And told eveything I knew
We talked until the dawn's first light
And then He left with morning dew
I told Him of my hopeless love
For someone who could not love me
He said He'd seen it from above
And told me to set her free
He told me He'd given me a chance
To know that love could mean
I knew he spoke of my one romance
That before the time I'd never seen
I tried my case before Him
I gave him every explanation
But my hopes began to dim
And despair replace elation
He reachhed inside and in His grasp
Let my heart know the truth
That my love did not last
Because of foolishness of youth
I cried then, such painfilled tears
And felt a warmth against my face
He told me that to remember throughout the years
He collected sorrow in a special place
We spoke of many things that time
I poured my heart and soul
And one thing that was on my mind
Was that He return the heart you stole
But I didn't and I think I know why
And as He left I think He knew too
So when He went I said goodbye
And asked Him to take care of you.

Well... this one came about because I'd just broken up with my first and only girlfriend. That was because, the fool that I am, I saw the girl I fell in love in with 2 years ago and BAM.. fell for her again.. She was on my mind all the time, even when I was with my girlfriend. So I thought to be fair to her, I had to break up with her. She didn't take it too badly.. she has another boyfriend right now.. and me? I'm still clinging on to the hope that one day the girl I fell in love with 2 years aggo and still love today will realise that I love her... Um..

This is such a beautiful poem. It is sad also, but oh! the feelings I got from this. You expressed yourself fairly well. I did have to read it a second time, for I didn't catch the fact that you were directing this to the girl you lost. (the first girl)?
I guess I like this even more because you involve God in your life. You're a very smart man just for that. And I think we've ALL screwed up what we thought was and would've been the 'perfect' relationship.
Things happen for a reason. Both of your occurances could've happened for a reason.
I wish you the best of luck, my friend!
Have you received any info. that would let you know if your lost love is still interested? You opened up the book for us, now I want to know the rest of the story!
Keep us posted. Put it into poetry!!!

ok I like totally loved this poem.. i promise you, you have got talent that you need to keep alive...
and about this death thing.. dont do it.. it aint worth it.. i tried it.. i failed.. and i caused pain.. and i wondered if i had succeeded how much of that pain would have been magnified onto everyone else in my life... so i say to everyone who thinks about trying it.. dont... from experience i know its not worth it...
