You looked different
when you walked in today.
I realized what it was
when you looked in my way.
I saw the sadness
and pain in your eyes.
How I wished I could tell you
that everything's gonna be fine.
But then she came
over and talked to you.
I saw you smile
and my heart went still.
For it hurts not to be
the one by your side.
To know that I'll never
be the one that you like.
I know that
you're feeling sad.
I feel it too
and it hurts so bad.
She's not the reason
why I feel like that.
It's because I know
that you're feeling sad.
