Shadow-Boxing
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

He feigns to the left.
He leads with his right.
He's shadow-boxing
with all his might.

Fighting only with himself.
Seeing not the true enemy.
Shadow boxing
for all eternity.

Take off the gloves.
Turn your face so you'll see just who,
the enemy in the mirror is,
that looks back at you.

Only when you're ready
to give up the fight,
will your life be filled with love of others
who also may be right.

We spend too much time
shadow boxing in sin,
looking for demons
that dwell within.

Throw in the towel,
on your knees repent.
Then you will wonder
where the shadows went.

The referee is God.
And He scores the round.
You'll lose the fight
until Him you've found.

When the fight is over,
victory can be found,
on bended knee
with God around.

Thanks to each of you for your thoughtfulness.
I hung up the gloves a while back
and now wear the Champ's belt.
God's in my corner.
