Oh little muse!
Come out to play...
It's been ever so long
you've been away!

I'm lost when you're gone
Can't think of a thing
My flight is erratic,
as a moth with one wing

Trying to find a candle flame
to heat the tip of my pen
and bring the ink into view
upon my page again

Don't be so recalcitrant
Oh you're just so much like me!
Running off to be by yourself
Stubborn as can be!

I've made you some nice hot tea,
with a lovely sunshine salad
Now do be sweet and come out
Sing me a little ballad

I've tired of the hide and seek
its been too long a game
Without you, oh my little muse
Things just aren't the same

Excellent writing here and I understand totally I feel like I've lost an important part of me while the ink drips but nothing forms.

Very a-muse-ing, Caroline. That muse can be fickle, indeed, but always returns....and yours is a good one, indeed.

Thank you kindly, LD and Balladeer. I hope the little brat returns soon! LOL... probably lost out there somewhere with my mind

Caroline,
Enjoyed the read very much.
Muses can be prolific
I like the ones specific.
