Here I am that selfish me
so deep in pain I forget to see
the needs of others
and what they feel...

It's true what they say
that to get past the pain
one looks to heal others
a rainbow instead of rain

But there's a reality here
that can't be ignored
the heart needs warmth
to be loved and much more

How many can say
they don't need a hug
now and again what we need
deep inside is love

If you're in no-mans land right now
feeling a little disillusioned
just need to feel someone cares
there's more than one conclusion

You can see yourself in my pain
think love only lasts a short while
or there again you can believe
I once shared a very beautiful smile....

There are many phrases I couldattach to you....."selfish" and forgeting to see the needs of others are not two of them. I've never known anyone more caring and giving than you, Rainbow.

RG, I agree with Balladeer on this one! Selfish? I don't think so. When we hurt we look at us yes. But that is so normal. I wouldn't call yourself selfish! Beautiful BTW!

I don't think you're selfish either, and you do have a very beautiful smile.

Nice, Rainbow. And extra nice when the sun returns to dry out the rain ... hence, the rainbow is seen.

She is selfish! Never once has she offered to share her body with me....NOT ONCE! Sure, she's given hugs, fabulous eyes, well wishes etc., but never once her body?....I swear, some people are just plain greedy and horde their "finer things" for themselves!

Balladeer, I know you've got an I.Q. at least in the high 80's....(okay, maybe a little higher than that), and you've noticed what a fine gal this lady truly is, so I've noticed from your replies), but you really have no idea whatta fine lady this person is. I guess I've known her for quite some time now, and have never heard any comment from her that wasn't caring or giving. Gotta love her don't ya?....

Ok folks....you know when you're really sad and somehow it all comes out in what you write, well it does with me and I write all these sad poems and poof for a day and I'm sat here, prior to this poem, thinking how do I respond without sounding even more gloomy and that blasted Toerag got me again...ROFLMAO!!!!

Thank you all for your replies. ..It really is good to smile and laugh...

HUSG all from a laughing Rainbow..

Don't forget those clouds have silver linings. Hugs to you for a beautiful poem, even if it was sad.
