A house of cards is a fragile thing,
whispers bring it crashing down.
Fail expectations and feel the sting,
as in bitter tears you drown.
Misspoken words incur heavy debts,
payable only with tears.
Passion out of turn spawns new regrets
recalling to mind old fears.
Spiteful words sorrow cannot call back,
the price of haste must be paid.
Reflection causes resolve to crack,
though fate's hand will not be stayed.
Conscience fractures into splintered shards,
each a lesson to abhor.
True honor rebuilds this house of cards,
to balance the deck once more.
Now and forever, my heart hears ~one voice~.
