The marshmallows ooze,
charred, a white glob
turns black,
and curls into ash.

Sticky fingers are delicious
across a smoke of sky.
a child smiles
and catches the sun
tumbling into water
the laughter of a splash.

The house settles
into evening
accepting the breeze
through the open window.
Listen to the crickets
the laughter of children
and the far off sound
of Vivaldi.

Martie, this is absolutely wonderful. The imagery in this was fantastic....I could hear the sounds and see those marshmallows perfectly. Well done
