For those who know the world's careless and cruel -That they must battle ‘gainst it alone- When against darkness' pall they must duel; And for the weight of life they must atone. Go down winding paths in search of promise, Through a gate of words you can find retreat. A well-wrought tale: escape for the restless, When you're seeking to avoid dark defeat. With stories borne from deep within our hearts. And formed from the recesses of our minds. Characters and creatures all taking parts, Living adventures down roads that they find. They burn inside our imaginations. Lead always to inspire awe and wonder. And are the cause for deliberations, With realities's veil rent asunder. You can hold court with errant kings and queens. Lose yourself in perils of mystery. Feel terror at a lonely madman's dreams, Or ride spaceships in future times to be. Draw six-shooters ‘gainst a lone cowboy man, Or travel back into lands of the past. Then journey with someone, down lifetime's span. Or learn of what technology will last. Philosophize with the great ancient ones, Debating matters of men and of God. Or laugh yourself silly with garish puns. These but a few of the roads you can trod. And if you find something else inside your soul, -mayhap a feeling you cannot describe- Feel an irresistible, aching pull, To release the words coming from inside. Please grab a pen and a piece of paper; Allow your imagination to flow! Don't try to fight the enticing allure, Of sharing with others sights you can show. I know I for one, can't wait to behold, -Once you release yourself; let thoughts flow free- The intricate depths as your mind unfolds... The most wondrous gift of YOUR story! And if you do have a story to tell, if you can hold it in no longer...then please do write it down! Bring it on over to the newly opened Fiction Workshop Forum. There's an amazing man who can help to develop the story, flush it out and lead you toward the path of fulfilling the dream of sharing YOUR story with the rest of the world! |
