delivered to my door
each rose a message
like the year before
the first is one of love
but promises no more
the second speaks of freedom
and the opening of a door
the third speaks of devotion
on friendship thoughts galore
the forth is of emotion
that I couldn't and don't ignore
the fifth is one of rest
reminds me of what's in store
sixth speaks of dreams gone by
which can never be restored
the seventh is of heaven
a price we can't afford
the eight is one of wonder
not a knight but a Lord
the ninth is of blessing
and is a true reward
the tenth a kindly thought
elevnth, the last before the end
A rainbow cherished and more
twelve..a very much loved friend

I like this one, it's just a pity there weren't more roses so it could have been longer.

Thank you...these roses are drinking water currently and then I'll put them in a vase and think of a way to keep them alive..:-))

Craig: Believe me, 12 makes my heart struggle...but they are beautiful and deserved my thoughts...someday they'll be read in an archive..:-)

The title grabbed me on this one--I love roses--and this poem was just beautiful, RainbowGirl. May I print it?

But with autumn leaf she perish'd, long time ago..."

Balladeer...would you quit stealing the good lines!!! I was going to say, RG, before Bal so rudely interrupted, that you are like into a rose yourself!

Lady Rainbow: A most wonderful piece... I echo all the above. Think of each response as a flower laid upon your door.

Finally had a chance to read; and in seeing all of the wonderful responses, wondered that no one commented on "pale" for indeed, this was not a "pale" piece, but one at which every heart "leaped". Between your beautiful roses, and the sincere flattery, I imagine it is more like spring in your heart than November 2.

Good job, RG!
