You call, I answer.
The moon lights my way,
With each step my trust grows,
I wonder what secrets you have hidden,
Will I hear and see this night?

My eyes turn skyward to an eagle soaring above.
Gracefully and silently he moves through the air.
He searches for his prey,
Nature is that way.

Mountain you have given so much,
and with your beauty I have grown.
The moon, and the stars so bright,
Danced in a circle this night.

Mountain whispers!
I close my eyes,
I journey as you take me in your hold.
A sense of peace, feeling of belonging,
descends upon me.

I am at peace with the world,
I now see things different,
I am the land.
I am the morning dew,

I am the sun as it kisses the night farewell.
I am the mountain streams sparkling with ripples.
I am the clouds floating high above.
I am the trees that blows with the wind,

I am the rustling of leaves,
I am the winter,
I am the gentle fall of snowflakes that covers your peaks.
I am the spirits of the young and old of the past,

I am the tears of the long forgotten.
I am the silence,
I am the freedom who roams,
I am the laughter singing in the air,

I am visions in the mind,
Set free to dance in the wind.
I am the song and the dance,
I am all creatures big and small.

The mountain whispers,
I listen to the fulfilling echoes,
I hear sounds of love;
It reaches into my heart and soul,
For things I have forgotten.

For now my spirit soars and I have
become one with the mountain.
I was awakened and set free.
My eyes tear with a new joy,
and my heart sings a new song.

The mountain whispers,
And if you listen with your heart,
You will hear the language so clear.

I echo FemmeFatale's sentiment. This is a beautiful expression.

Once I was brilliant, now I no longer shine, but the twinkle in my eye speaks of another time.

Thank you both...I wrote this poem for the love I have for the Mountains of AZ.
And the peace I found there.
