Of her life she sings
In freedom's glory
With graceful sweeps across the sky

Feathers upon wings
Each tells a story
Some make you weep, while others sigh

She decries the past
When wings had been clipped
Made to suffer within a cage

A reflection cast
Of her spirit stripped
The wind buffers a shriek of rage

Those bonds are long broke
And with skies to roam
She seeks to find what should have been

Her passion is spoke
In search of a home
A heart that's kind with love therein

Majestic and proud
Soaring in the wind
In this freedom that she has won

Fly high by the cloud
Our fine feathered friend
May your goals form the horizon

Lady Hoot: I'm glad you enjoyed and you are most welcome... In turn I thank you for the inspiration, as this is merely my perception of your past, present and hopeful future gathered from your own poetry. I hope I did not step too far. As always, I bow to you and yours.

Lady D and Munda: My thanks to you as well. I hope this piece speaks beyond the obvious recipient.

Sir Andrew...step to far?? By all means no. I was thrilled that my work has spoke to you enought to inspire this beautiful poem. I am flattered to be highlighted in verse by one as talented as yourself. Once again, thank you.

Very nicely done, Andrew - and to echo the rest - Ruth truly deserves some recogition for the tribulations she's overcome in the past two years..... Yeah Hoot...
