Lost and confused
Thoughts to the wind
Sitting here wondering
When does it begin?

When is it my time
To feel a love so new
When do I feel the joy?
Of loving someone too

Am I forever to be alone?
Sitting waiting here
Or is love around the corner
Could it be that near?

Will I miss the scent of flowers?
And walking in the rain
Seeing sunset beaches
Sharing joys and pain

Who will hold my hand?
When the end is near
Telling that they love me
And there nothing left to fear

Looking at the stars
Feeling all alone
Waiting for a love
That I can call my own.

Wow Lurking one...this tells me that you're not having a hopeful time here!
Keep looking...I know that the one who gets you is going to be a damn lucky guy!

Patience sister mine, as you once counseled me to cultivate it, so I advise the same. You know where I am and that I am here for you, always.

Isn't it amazing that our lowest regrets and our most happy times come through so much more vividly in our poetry? I remeber well the pain of being alone, and it does indeed make finding someone seem so much sweeter. Never ever give up.

Not convinced with this one. Try to write a poem without thinking to much about what you are writing, and think a bit more about what you are writing about. Stay focused.

I see this poem as completely focused - The theme never deviates, but rather develops nicely. The rhyme scheme is also intact. The only improvements I would see as relevant would be some minor meter mending.... I like it!

Nan, I didn't mean stay focused as in stay to the theme. It was more along the lines of stay focused to where the feeling is coming from.

Beautifully written....hopefully you will not have to ponder on this one for too terribly long!

Sometimes I wonder why ache and mourning can birth such beautiful art?

Echoes of a universal human feeling...
Just when we think we are secure in our love
and will never have to feel lonely or heartbroken again, Boom! There we are...
In that same situation...

Lovely, Poem....
