Cement is not the white
ground powder of earth,
the rolling pin of walls and slabs,
the pouring of
the weary worker’s
aching caress.
It is mixed dough
strong and sure
and smelling of warm
aproned arms of morning,
the rich fragrance
of building
the first fire
in the hearth
and the loving hand
that powers
the cradles uninterrupted
rocking.

I'll never think of Cement in the same light again!

Thanks for the new perspective

WOW sums it up quite nicely. This is very good, Martie. Brief, to the point, excellent metaphor, lots of meaning and a strong message. This piece has it all. good work.
