I’ve traveled down life’s rough road hitting all the bumps and dips.
Have learned a lot of lessons that only life like this equips.
I’ve often thought of writing down the trials of my life,
but who would want to read a book that’s full of painful strife.

Now I’m not trying to tell you that no good has ever come.
I count two great successes in my daughter and my son.
But many times I’ve often thought how happy I would be.
If I could just have one smooth spot in all this misery.

It seems as soon as I’ve stood up and brushed off my backside.
Here comes another trial that once again hits me broadside.
I guess the Lord is trying to strengthen me with miseries.
When next you see me on the street just call me Hercules.

Hey Herc,
Let them boulders down off your shoulders already...quit trying to carry the load alone. I know you know where to look for help. Cute poem though, Lucie.

Is Hercules doing the drag queen thing these days?

Pardon the humour, but this made me smile -- they say misery loves company, and my misery is thrilled that she is not alone!
