The Only Thing I Wouldn’t Change

Last night I lay awake and took a walk down memory lane-
And thought about the things I’d change, if I could start again.
The places I would go this time, the things which I would do,
The only thing I wouldn’t change, is the love I have for you.

Chorus:
You gave me ground to stand on, when all around gave way-
You walked right there beside me, through each and every day.
You were there to be my sunshine, when I was feeling blue.
The only thing I wouldn’t change, is the love I have for you.

I’d change my aimless drifting, when I was in my prime-
I’d try to build a nest egg, redeeming precious time.
I’d get more education, change the things I put you through-
The only thing I wouldn’t change, is the love I have for you.

I’d take time for the children, and to take them to the park-
We’d sit out in the swing at night, and hold hands in the dark,
I’d take back those harsh words I’ve said, the tantrums that I threw-
The only thing I wouldn’t change, is the love I have for you.

Gunslinger, this is a very beautiful poem. The best thing you can do is take the regrets and put them behind you, and just try to get on with your life. If you live in your past regrets, it will only taint the present. LOL not that I should be giving advice that I don't follow....

Gunslinger, I really love this piece!!! This is so beautiful! Really love the fact that regrets can be forgiven by one's self.

This is good, and enough of us haven't seen it, so {bump} back up you go.

I would really like to hear the tune to this one...
