They went to see the Wizard;
They followed the White House Road -
Doreen put up her periscope;
A Greyhound Michael rode.

Then LngJhnAg and Lorelei
Came singing in the rain,
"Are there some crazy poets here?"
The duo did refrain.........
(got pics)

Lost Dreamer, Nan and Peri met
With desperado's plane.
He saw them first and said "Oh No!
They're Groucho's, Justin Sayne!!"....
(got pics)

For there they stood with glasses donned,
A moustache each with smile.
Nan hugging every James in sight,
Des shopping all the while.

To Washington, the entourage
In lines where tourists stand;
From that day forth all poets were
From capital's dome banned.........
(yep - got pics)

Though Michael had escaped the spies,
They got his fingerprints.........
(taking pics)
He needs a place to be Unknown
And play with fingerpaints.

Comes gnosis with the Scrabble board,
A laughter marathon -...........
(pics)
"All poets hence off to the 'Stute!!"
Declared the Pentagon.

Intruder brought his parents by.
A brave raccoon was he;
For then they'd likely see firsthand
Poets' insanity.

Then desperado's plane's aground -
He sabotaged the door.
So he could return Justin Kace
The poets played some more.

By then it seemed the Wizard quest
Would take them to the 'Stute.
Lost Dreamer's VanGogh's Justin Thyme;
They left in hot pursuit... .......
(um..This is a true story)

Hey, y'know, I LIVE here near dc and almost NEVER go downtown, 'cause when I do, I'm like almost the ONLY one around who's got a head on their shoulders. You know what someone once told me? That "DC" stood for "De-Capitated".... LOL.... wonder why they said that...

This was sure a wonderful gathering, and weekend. I can't wait till we all can join together again hopefully then the Wizard will decide to make his presence known. Until then I think he's gonna have to deal with the Justin Clan.

I got to DC Justin Thyme
to hang and meet the rest.
I tried my hand at pool and rhyme,
but I was less than best.
I missed some parts, so drop the dime!
(Whatever could he mean?)
Des says that he'd be glad to share
some dirt about Doreen?!?

Haha, heehee... that sounds like fun!
(I'm glad you gave up smokes...)
But I could take this to the 'stute,
this dirt about these folks!
I'm Leonardo and I paint
fine pictures for the wall.
And if I could escape this 'stute,
I'd hang out with you all.

What I don't understand is this,
how could you guys be loose?
You're clearly just as nuts as me!
But *I'M* with Doctor Moose.
Nurse Cratchet, she is such a witch!
They use cardboard for meat!
I'm stuck here at the 'stute, my friends,
and YOU are on the street!

I never wore a groucho nose.
I'm certainly no spy!
There's only two of you who're sane,
LongJohn and Lorelei!
But I'm locked up and you are not,
it makes no sense to me...
that NUTS who storm the Capital
stay on the street and free!

I'm really not sure what all of this signifies, but it is my hypothesis that you had some sort of meeting -- where does one sign up for next year?!?

What a novel concept -- strip away some of the anonymity of the forums -- brilliant!

(BTW: Love the Groucho masks ... LOL)

Rules for meeting poets.

1. Never pump gas after it goes dark.

2. Play scrabble incessantly and make up new words as often as possible.

3. Always buy good liquer.

4. Remember your sense of humor.

5. Write something if you get the chance.

6. Remember that they are as crazy as you are.

7. Never assume a poet to be sane.

8. ummm did I mention have liquer?

9. oh yeah, don't worry if something weird happens to the plane door on the day they try to leave.

10. buy extra food. they eat sometimes. that's if they can detatch themselves away from your computer long enough.

11. if they get lost, don't be shy. page them. chances are they are looking at books to buy.

12. make sure you know how to make coffee. they will need it in the morning to get over their hangover.

13. buy alcohol. specifically wine coolers, beer, and hard liquer.

14. remember how much fun drunk people are to watch.

15. play scrabble. in their drunkenness, they tend to make up funny words with funnier meanings.
