The Credo, of a Ramblin’ Man No blue is quite as pretty Than of a Texas sky... Nor anything as peaceful- As watching clouds go by. They’ve always said I’m crazy- They say I have no sense.. I’m like a young, unbroken colt Just looking through the fence. Chorus: The grass is always greener- Over on the other side... The water’s always sweeter- Out beyond the Great Divide. The coffee’s always better- If you drink from a can- Therein you have the credo- Of a first class ramblin’ man. The girls all look far better- When you’re kissing them goodbye. And promise them a letter... Even though you know you lie- And you grab your bag and bedroll Say, “Babe, I’ve gotta go”! There’s nothing any freer- Than the life out on the road. ------------------ Live large, people! ~GS~ |
